Why Train?
Most actors need to train their voices because
tension can make a voice sound tight, and careless
speech can leave a voice unintelligible. The actor
not only has to deal with the tensions of everyday
life and the stress of auditioning, but the added
emotional strain of the character he is playing.
It takes training to publicly express the full emotional
life of your character, moment by moment, while clearly
articulating his every word in a way that sounds
natural and effortless.
Why Coach?
As a coach, I can help you with a
particular audition or preparing a role. Even after
an actor has been basically trained, it is important
that he have an objective ear to listen to his work.
Many professionals coach with me to gain accuracy
with an accent or clarity with complex text. Some
come to reduce vocal strain, some come to try out
a new vocal quality for a particular character.
What I Have to Offer
I have over 25 years coaching experience with
a successful track record.
I have trained many actors at varying levels of
skill. As a professional actor/singer, and voice
and speech professor, I am also experienced in
a number of acting and voice methods. I can communicate
with you at whatever level and in whatever acting/
vocal language you are most comfortable.
I have expertise as an acting
coach. Many actors
come to me because they can get professional acting
coaching while they are getting their voice & dialect
coaching. The combined service saves valuable time
and leads to a more organic and integrated performance.
